Dates: 13, 14, 15, 16 April 2026
Time: 9.30am to 4.00pm each day
Location: Kaos Room, Blue Room Theatre
Cost: $390 plus booking fee

Principles of Intimacy is a four-day, in-person professional development course exploring how intimacy is created, communicated, and held safely in stage and screen performance. Grounded in consent-led and trauma-informed practice, the course supports participants to engage with intimate material in ways that are ethical, collaborative, and sustainable.

The course is designed for performers, directors, choreographers, educators, stage managers, producers, and screen practitioners, as well as those interested in exploring future pathways into intimacy coordination or direction. Across the four days, participants will develop shared language, practical tools, and a clearer understanding of how intimacy operates within rehearsal rooms and on set.

The training combines discussion, reflection, and practical exploration, with a strong focus on consent, communication, risk awareness, and professional practice. An optional assessment is available for participants who wish to consolidate their learning. Completion of the assessment provides a certificate acknowledging training hours and the content covered.

This course is suitable for those working in theatre, screen, or both, and is designed to support safer, more respectful creative environments across the performing arts.
